[Q] If I get My Galxy Note 4 unlocked and then reset it, will it relock

I plan on gifting my phone to someone outside of the USA, and thus need to unlock it, but also reset to get all of my info off it. Furthermore, if I report ti lost/stolen would it still be able to be used with a foreign sim card. Or do they remotely lock it down like iPhone?



Full plan is to unlock phone, reset it, mail it off, report it stolen, then get replacement phone via insurance.
