2 ADT-1's... one detected by ADB/USB, the other no dice

Hello. I finally got around to playing with my 2 ADT-1's. I was able to get TWRP and Pure Nexus TV ROM running on one using the dev cable and ADB. For some reason, my computer never detects the 2nd unit when I connect it. I've got debugging on and for fun I tried both dev cables and another computer. Nada. I fear that it may be a hw issue so I'm wondering if there is any other way I can get the ROM installed. I've tried ADB over the network (on both) but for whatever reason I can never connect. Could I get a cable and go USB port to USB port (bypass dev cable) or will ADB only detect using the dev cable? I'm all ears if anyone has any suggestions. I have not tried resetting factory defaults on it yet. Everything else on it is working fine. Thanks in advance.
