I have an issue that I have spent two hours researching on Google and XDA and have read several supposed solutions, but none I have seen work for me.
I use only ROMs which have the Gesture Anywhere feature. I always set up gestures to direct dial significant people. The problem exists in all of them (I have tried Temasek, Validus, BliissPop, CyanideL to name a few)
The issue is if I install Skype, the direct dial uses Skype, and not the phone dialer.
Before suggesting solutions please note:
- Skype has no defaults set in app info, so no defaults can be cleared
- I have clicked on a number on a web page or document and selected Dialer --> Always on the calling pop-up
- I have uninstalled and reinstalled Skype many times
- I have tried restricting Skype access to contacts and making calls in Privacy Guard
- I have deleted and re-added direct dial shortcuts both with Skype installed and not installed. Once Skype is installed direct dial gestures launch Skype always
- Even if I am not logged into Skype, doing the direct dial gesture brings up the Skype app log-in screen rather than calling via the inbuilt dialer.
Does anybody have any idea how to stop Skype from doing this?
