Here's the story; purchased a very nice M8 that had a "damaged" OS (from what I can tell, didn't have one at all). TWRP was installed, so I wasn't the first to mess with this phone. The phone is unlocked, with S-on. If I tried to boot it, it would get stuck on the white HTC screen with "This build is for development purposes only. Do not distribute outside of HTC without HTC's written permision" in red; couldn't shut the phone off, had to let the battery drain down and start over. I loaded a couple of different ROMS (Maximus HD, then Revolution 4.4.4) on there, and the phone works, but WiFi is grayed out, so I need to update my firmware.
Here's the thing; when I try to look for my firmware version with fastboot getvar all, it gets stuck on "waiting for device". Rather than to blindly keep trying to install random things, I figured I'd ask for help. So, what's my next step?
