[Q] Phone stuck in start-up loop.

I have a Chinese phone that very few people have. That is my first problem. It is a Leagoo Lead 7. I was fairly happy with it until it got stuck in a bootloop a week and a half ago.

I have been going back and forth with Leagoo support, one e-mail a day since then. They sent me links for the USB driver (MediaTek PreLoader USB VCOM), Flash Tool (v3.1336.0.198) and their ROM.

Unfortunately every time I try to flash I get the error "BROM ERROR: S_NOT_ENOUGH_MEMORY(1012)". I have verified the USB driver and searched online. This error seems to normally happen when the wrong ROM is trying to be flashed, but they insist this is the right ROM.

I think I would be willing to even try a custom ROM if they don't give me any solutions real soon. Is that like playing Russian roulette with this phone, since it isn't completely bricked yet?

What ROM might I try? This phone was running Android 4.4.2. The processor is a MTK6582 Quad-Core CPU @ 1.3GHz.

What would you suggest?
