any way to remove and retrive data from the emmc card

I have a pretty smashed Moto G that is not functioning at all and definitely won't function. There is some info I'd like to retrieve from the internal memory, if possible. Does anyone know if the EMMC chip is removable and then readable in some way? I've located the chip thanks to this post, and if I can send it away to get the data retrieved (or if I can remove it and purchase some hardware to read it for not too much money), I'd like to try it. I just haven't been able to find too much information on this.
