I could REALLY use someone's help.
My wife's T-Mobile Note 2 (SGH-T889) just suddenly died the other day. It went into this endless bootloop, where it displays the Note 2 splash and then reboots. I've seen posts by others with similar issue, but nothing I've tried from those other posts have helped.
First of all, I am very much a newbie.
Secondly, the phone was rooted about 2 years ago, but that was about it. I didn't add custom ROMs or anything like that.
Thirdly, it won't go into recovery mode. So, I don't have the option to reset to factory defaults, delete cache, etc.
Fourthly, it will go into download mode. Since it can go into download mode, I've tried flashing with stock ROM (various versions) via Odin. Odin says it was successful, but I'm back to the same bootloop. I've tried flashing PIT, but same thing. Odin says it was successful, but no change.
I read in another XDA forum that someone used a toolkit to fix their issue, but unfortunately, the link to that toolkit has since been removed.
Any assistance to revive this phone would be MUCH appreciated!
