Are the xda-dev Lollipop custom ROM more stable than carrier's own rollout?

as you guys know, the lollipop for the samsung s5 released by carriers has a complete disaster!



anyways... is our xda-cooked versions more stable or stick to 4.4.4 either stock or rooted? stay away from 5.0 for awhile?
